Supported by Francis Clark, Premier Parking Solutions (PPS) was established in August 2008 as a result of a management buyout of another car parking company. The business provides a complete range of car parking solutions from site location to installation, maintenance, cash collections, enforcement, line marking and appropriate signage conforming to British Parking Association standards.
The quality of the service provided by PPS and the high standards of integrity and flexibility have ensured the business wins and retains clients who range from small independent landowners, local authorities, educational establishments, developers and retail parks to nationally focussed businesses such as Network Rail and P&O Ferries.
The business model developed by PPS is highly attractive to anyone owning unused or underused land. Operations Director, Barrie Douglass said: “We show landowners how to turn an overhead into an income stream. Whether their land is appropriate for long term car park development or is only available on a temporary or ‘off peak’ basis, they can generate a healthy income without any expenditure.
“The full installation package is completed at our expense. We recover our set up and ongoing management costs through a percentage of car park Pay & Display revenue. We will also carry out regular cash collections, banking, auditing and maintenance checks as part of the service, with all costs being met from the Pay & Display takings so at no time are any costs incurred by the client.
"There are various models for creating new parking opportunities. Landowners can lease their property to a car parking specialist and just take the rental this generates. Alternatively, they can pay a parking company to manage a facility on their behalf or they could enter an agreement whereby the parking business installs the infrastructure and manages it with the profits shared between the partners.”
The senior management team at PPS has more than 35 years experience in the industry and pride themselves on attention to detail and fulfilling their clients’ expectations. PPS has a total of 23 staff including two directors, an in house accountant, two managers (operational and administrative), two supervisors, a maintenance team and a network of mobile attendants. PPS install and manage sites nationwide from their head office in Newton Abbot.
The Francis Clark team acting for PPS is led by partner Sean Grinsted and provides a full range of accountancy, tax and regulatory compliance advice including: Statutory Company Accounts, Company Secretarial Services, Corporation Tax, VAT and updates on relevant legislation as well as quarterly review meetings and ad hoc meetings when requested.
Sean Grinsted, said: “Directors Richie Cox and Barrie Douglass have built a very attractive car parking proposition based on their considerable experience. They enjoy high levels of repeat business but are ambitious to grow and this has resulted in the recent appointment of Lizzie James as Business Development Director. Lizzie was previously the Business Development Director at Santander Corporate and Commercial Banking. Client testimonials clearly demonstrate that PPS are delivering what landowners with car parking potential are looking for.”
Barrie Douglass added: ”Francis Clark have been our accountants since PPS’s inception in August 2008 and have brought a large amount of added value to our business through their range of services and their breath of experience and expertise. Sean has provided an excellent sounding-board in all business matters and this has enabled us to grow into a strong and stable company.”
