Dorset Business Awards - Celebrating the success of local businesses
The 2016 Awards are open for entry!
Since 2008 Princecroft Willis have been delighted to support the Dorset Business Awards by sponsoring the Family Business of Year Award and welcome the opportunity for continued involvement following our merger with Francis Clark in April 2016.
It is great to celebrate those family businesses who have succeeded and PKF Francis Clark are thrilled to continue to sponsor the Family Business of the Year Award.
Keeping a successful family business on track requires a balance of strategic business thinking, personal skills and family cohesion so with only 10% of family businesses successfully surviving to the third generation it is evident that it’s not always an easy task.
To be successful a family business must be innovative, adaptable and have a healthy culture in place – our award is designed to recognise and celebrate that success.
We have seen some outstanding entries since we began sponsoring this award, reinforcing our belief that family businesses form the cornerstone of the Dorset business community.
As well as the PKF Francis Clark Family business Award, this year there are 10 further categories, 3 of which are new.
Gala Dinner - This year’s Dorset Business Awards presentation dinner will be held in the Windsor Hall at the Bournemouth International Centre on Thursday 24 November 2016. The evening’s celebrations will commence with a drinks reception followed by a delicious 3-course dinner by BH Live.

2015 Family Business of the Year:
Hunt's Foodservice Ltd
More than 100 years ago the Hunt’s family began delivering milk from its family dairy by horse and cart around Sherborne and by the 1930’s this developed into Hunt’s Dairies. Five generations later, and with five family members directly involved in the business, the company has grown into the largest independent wholesaler in the south west providing chilled, dry, frozen goods and fresh meat.
Judge Nick Love, Family Business Partner at PKF Francis Clark, says: "This family company has its roots firmly in Sherborne. Little did the family know when they started delivering milk all those years ago that anyone buying an ice cream from Brighton to Lands’ End and round to Swansea is likely to have had it supplied by Hunt’s.
